MA Global Security and Border Studies, Queen’s University of Belfast

Thanks to the generosity of The Cross Trust, I have been able to pursue my Master’s degree in Global Security and Border Studies at Queen’s University of Belfast, further developing my desire to pursue a career that will positively impact those who have experienced forced displacement.

Despite the challenges of studying during the Covid-19 pandemic, I have gained invaluable research experience and have been stretched by engaging classes, encouraged by fellow students and supported by leading academics. My research interests have centred around humanitarianism in the context of migration and visual representations of refugees and asylum seekers during the 2015/16 European refugee crisis.

I am incredibly grateful to The Cross Trust for its support, which has allowed me to continue studying a subject I am so passionate about.
