Medicine, University of Aberdeen

As a graduate student who had already completed a previous degree, I was confident that my true vocation lay in becoming a practising Doctor but was concerned at the financial implications of returning to study. Funding from The Cross Trust enabled me to take up a place on the Aberdeen programme and turn a lifelong interest in Medicine into a viable career option. I have gained so much invaluable experience thus far, having been taught by a wide range of healthcare professionals in various clinical settings, as well as having early patient exposure. I have been able to excel academically, as well as partake in various societies which I hope to continue throughout medical school. Without The Cross Trust, I may have been forced to re-consider pursuing Medicine and am therefore immensely grateful to the Trust – it has allowed me to commit to my passion.
