The interns gained experience in handling a large number and variety of rare books, and applying fundamental descriptive processes to make accessible archive and manuscript collections. Curators from Rare Books and Archives and Manuscript Collections acted as mentors throughout the internships, and on a day-to-day basis the interns worked with colleagues in a number of different areas of the Library, including the Collections Care, Digital, and Special Collections Reading Room teams.
